Three pricing models, and why they matter more than the entry price
The table above is misleading as long as you only read the left column. Underneath those amounts sit three different models:
- Per user. Every colleague who joins costs the full amount again. Attractive on the entry price, expensive once a team is looking along.
- Per connection or administration. You pay for the connection, not for the number of people. A second administration adds cost, a second colleague barely does.
- Per usage. You buy a bundle of requests. Cheap if you ask something occasionally, unpredictable once you use the assistant structurally.
In practice vendors mix these.
What do you get when it is free?
One vendor in this comparison has a free tier, and is honest about what it gives you. Praat met je Boekhouding offers 200 tasks per month across two administrations, read-only; that is roughly sixty questions.
Free is excellent for finding out whether this is useful to you. It runs out exactly when it starts to help: once you use the assistant daily, or once you want it to record something.
What the price table does not show
Three costs that only surface once you are using it:
- The AI assistant subscription itself. Separate with every vendor. An MCP connection with ChatGPT requires a paid plan.
- The number of records per answer. This is the most underestimated limit. A connector can have uncapped requests and still be useless for analysis if every answer is truncated at a few dozen rows. Exact AI Connect Essentials from iWebDevelopment retrieves at most 60 records per question, so a question like “compare revenue per month across the whole year” stays incomplete once you have more than 60 invoices in a month.
- Implementation. Zero with the MCP connectors here: you connect through OAuth yourself. Have an integration partner build something custom and you are looking at 2,000 to 15,000 euros up front plus 100 to 400 euros a month in maintenance.
